GOLDEN HOUR

This project is an homage to my favorite album of all time, Golden Hour by Kacey Musgraves. It’s an ethereal country album with a cosmic pop twist. I was inspired by her style, the lyrics and my own memories that have this album playing in the background. I chose to incorporate colors from the original album cover to tie the two together. I wanted my rework to be whimsical and surreal yet have a handmade feel to highlight the albums country roots.

This album has changed my perspective on the world, given me hope for the future and touched my life in ways that I never imagined music could. To me, listening to this album feels like when the tears finally stop, a sunburn on a summer day, a hug from your best friend, a sunset on a drive home, and the magic of a first love. I want this artwork to be a love letter of sorts to Golden Hour and the moments I’ve found comfort within it.
